CUPS 1.4.3 and printing that just won;t work

Had a problem today where I was trying to print from an Ubuntu machine with CUPS running locally and it just sat there in a 'Pending' state.
Eventually I tried to use the 'Resume Printer' action in the Printers section of http://localhost:631, but 'twas to no avai
